What are the tasks involved when organising a JURE conference? Below an overview of possible tasks in the committee:

- Drawing up and sending out calls for proposals

- Organising the review of proposals

- Making acceptance/rejection decisions

- Organising review of final papers/posters/roundtables

- Organising workshops.
- Planning the program, updating the website communcation with participants, keynotes,workshopleaders, etc..

- Communication with the local organising committee, arranging the rooms, facilities, accommodation, transportation, meals, social event, etc…

A doctoral degree in Sociology, Psychology, Communication, New Media, or a related field is required before beginning the postdoctoral fellowship. Candidates must have (1) strong quantitative and/or qualitative analysis skills, (2) experience writing manuscripts, and (3) good organizational and time management skills. Prior publication and grant writing experience will enhance the application.

The Postdoctoral Fellow is a 12 month, full-time appointment, with salary up to $45,000 depending upon qualifications. Benefits are also provided. Subscriptions are open to the Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology of the University of Bari
Aim of the Master is to train an educational psychologist able to consider the context of school and training as a complex cultural construct. We therefore proposed to clarify and define a psychology for the school that exceed the models of clinical intervention and is based firmly on the school understood interwoven with powerful and compelling plots with other socio-cultural contexts such as family, microculture of youth, culture and entertainment media, as well as institutions and organizations across the region and the world of work.

The purpose of Doctoral Academy events sponsored by STELLAR are to induct TEL doctoral candidates into the STELLAR research community and also to provide them with research training opportunities, particularly within the early and mid stages of their doctoral research. In this context, information technologies and communications and assistive technologies play a crucial role in creating learning environments using an approach universally recognized as accessible for all.

The combination of ICT and Inclusion, in various educational contexts and educational reality seems unbreakable. The interest in developing best practice in the use of ICT in the context of disability and discomfort in general are increasingly the focus of many scientific experiments and ministerial projects.

Although schools and universities are increasingly equipped with advanced technologies (think classes to Web 2.0 platforms that mediate courses in e-learning), many professionals (teachers of every grade, educators, tutors …. ) struggle to integrate into their professional practice to exploit the full potential offered by ICT. Indeed, the pervasiveness of technology in our daily life has not quite scaled the fear of the machine do the educational function.

TD 52 will focus on issues of ICT in educational processes and educational situations of disability and marginalization and social-cultural perspective to promote a genuine process of inclusion. Are invited to contribute experts coming from research, from academic and clinical.

In particular we expect contributions to encourage reflection on the following topics:

- To what extent technologies allow autonomy in the learning process?

- What are the pedagogical models that promote real processes of inclusion?

- What teaching strategies and technologies which support inclusive education processes?

- What is new in the field of assistive technology?

- What are the competencies required of teachers and educators in general?

- What education policies and related legal aspects support the use of ICT in educational processes in situations of disability and social-cultural?

The studentships are for a period of three years, subject to satisfactory progress. They provide payment of tuition fees plus an annual stipend of 13,638.47 euros. The topics of study have not been predetermined, but selection of applicants will be subject to the availability of appropriate supervision. Therefore applicants are advised to contact potential supervisors in the Department or the Head of the PhD School before submitting an application. Applicants should have a good University degree (e.g., BA, MSc), and preferably postgraduate experience or qualifications relevant to research. Applicants are expected to submit a research proposal (no longer than 4,400 words) with the application form. Interviews will be held in September for applicants who are short-listed.

The day before the 2011 ISCAR Congress (the 05th  September 2011) will be devoted to two

separate events: PhD Students’ Day and CHACDOC Pre-Conference.

The PhD Students’ Day will give special attention to PhD thesis, focusing on the different

phases of doctoral research. There will be spaces/times for dialogues, presentations and

debates, including the participation of Senior Researchers that will discuss parts of PhD

students’ work and provide some suggestions. For instance, the opportunity of discussing data

analysis will be given to doctoral students who have already collected their empirical data.

PhD Students have the possibility to submit a proposal both to ISCAR CONFERENCE and to

the PhD Students’ Day (poster presentation, oral presentation or PhD Dialogue). But they

must send different proposals to each event.

Proposals submission begins on the 15 July 2010!

Thus, the sooner you send your proposals, the best.

Submission is until the 04 September 2010.
