Abstract

This article describes a model for on-line courses with the following features: short length (about 3 months); activity modular structure; virtual classroom with about 25 students; interactivity key-role; coherence between modules and tools.

This model will focus on the links between emotional aspects, task-based activities and relational methods that will be put into practise in spaces created by one or more tools. The activities follow a work pace managed by the subject (student or group) according to his own rules or to ongoing negotiations. The course consists on the following relevant phases: first, the welcoming phase; second, the virtual classroom negotiation; third, the material designing in small groups. Finally, the whole group carries out a final review, to share the objectives and to discuss open issues.

At the end of the course, students increased and improved their skills to perform the complex role of on-line tutor. The participants gained, through their learning path, social and relational abilities, technological and designing skills, knowledge building competencies.
