5. Inclusione categoriale e costruzione del consenso in un blog elettorale: il caso Cofferati

Abstract

This study explored the in-group categorization process implied in the messages of a political leader, Sergio Cofferati, and his voters written within the official weblog for the local council elections of the city of Bologna (2004). A content analysis revealed different contents and levels of inclusiveness of the category "We", used for constructing collective identities and political consensus. Following the Social Identity Approach results are discussed examining the role of computer mediated communication environments in political participation and active citizenship.
