The word is composed by the first six letters of the top row of the keyboard. This order was introduced when typewriters began to be used with keyboards respecting the alphabetical order and, therefore, they went too fast and the keys got tangled. So the letters were mixed in order to slow down writing. Subsequently, although this problem has been completely overcome, the keyboard has always remained like this. We believe that this is a good metaphor of the interweaving of culture and technological tools.

In fact, computer-based technologies constitute cultural artifacts present with varying degrees of depth in the daily study and work activities of individuals, social groups and institutions. There are several models that guide their use and online environments that mediate interaction between people. In any case, the intertwining of culture and technological artifacts is increasingly complex and capable of determining new cognitive, psychological and social interaction models.

The journal is an organ of the CKBG Association which already boasts considerable activity in the national territory as well as a close collaboration with the research group directed by Marlene Scardamalia and Carl Bereiter (University of Toronto).
